You don't need to go on a retreat
Being present starts here, now.
When you read this, I'm already practicing in silence.
I’m on another meditation retreat. In Greece this time, but it doesn’t matter so much. It’s about being with reality, no matter how it looks like and where you are.
I do this first and foremost for myself.
To strengthen my inner foundation.
To face my anger, doubt and frustration.
To be with my resistance.
To let the dust settle.
To walk the talk.
As a man. Brother. Partner. Mentor.
We need to put the oxygen mask on first.
Otherwise, how can we grow in a sustainable and balanced way?
Such a retreat is straight forward training.
A mental bootcamp.
Nothing fancy about it.
That’s what I love so much about mindfulness training.
It’s simple. Profound. And highly transformational.
It doesn’t provide a shortcut. Because there is none.
We need to put in the work. Over and over again. Period.
We don’t need more tools. More frameworks. More techniques.
Such an approach might not sound “high-ticket” for the mind.
But it is high ticket for the soul.
We don’t need more fluff and fancy words.
We need to to the work.
I’m sharing this, because also I was and am not immune to it.
The mind loves these things so much.
However all we need to do, is make time.
Make time to train.
All different kinds of natural results happen when we do.
A clearer direction in life.
More confidence.
A more balanced bodymind.
Trusting yourself.
The ability to let go.
And the best thing is: You don’t need to go on a retreat to start.
Just take this moment right now.
See what you see.
Smell what you smell.
Feel what you feel.
Notice your thoughts.
Notice your breath.
Become aware of that.
Nothing else to do.
If I can make a wish: Please, be kind to yourself.
And keep your heart wide open.
If that resonates, you can ask:
How does being kind to myself look like today?
Love. Chris
P.S.: There will be no newsletter on the 15th.
I’ll resume it the week after
